Our People

The ‘Habaneros’ have been chosen very carefully. We have all come from leadership roles. We understand the challenge of supporting a workforce through change and the challenges it poses to leaders personally. But more than this, we believe that our clients value good relationships with people they can trust to do a good job for them. This is a critical requirement for a Habanero consultant.

The fact that we have worked to achieve good and trusting relationships with all of our clients is borne out by the fact that we are still in contact with all of them and have gone on to do further work for them. We pride ourselves on being true to our values.

We believe that our job with our clients is about:

  • Questions not answers – helping our clients and their teams find their own solutions – ones that they believe in and know will sustain;

  • Environment not direction – creating the environment for change and providing the method by which our clients make their own decisions about change;

  • Listening not just waiting to talk – listening to what each key stakeholder needs from our work with them. And bringing that together to reach a consensus of required outcomes from the work that all stakeholders can sign up to;

  • Facilitation not teaching – we have found that our clients frequently understand what the problems are; it’s finding the method to solve them that is the challenge. We create the space to facilitate the learning process – learning by doing.

  • Trust that people have it within them – not making value judgements. Value judgements always get in the way of good relationships. Change is challenging enough and people need the right level of support and constructive challenge to help them through the process.
